AnnotationThis study assessed the relationship between hypertension and cognitive functions in older people. Hypertension in older people does not affect long-term memory or abstraction/judgement ability, but is associated with depression and defects in attention and incidental memory. The cognitive impairment associated with depression is independent of the presence of cerebral lesions.
