Comments on "Epidemiologic-ecological models of aging" | Author(s) | Larry W Chambers |
Journal title | Canadian Journal on Aging, vol 14, no 1, Spring 1995 |
Pages | pp 100-102 |
Keywords | Biological ageing ; Theory ; Mathematical models. |
Annotation | The author of this response to Eino Heikkenen's paper has difficulty with use of the term "model", when "theory" or "concept" would be more desirable and less ambiguous. Chambers comments on the lack of definition of "intrinsic and extrinsic" factors. Although Heikkenen's article presents a number of perspectives and examples from the literature, the evidence does not strengthen the case for the epidemiological-ecological view of ageing: new studies are required.
