| Annotation | People living in cities often have a romantic image of retirement in the countryside. However, when people become older, often frailer and affected by bereavement and disability, the reality is often different. This article reports on the experiences of health visitors in rural areas, and on the Help the Aged report, 'Growing old in the countryside: idyll or nightmare?' (1996). |
