Annotation | This article looks at the question of physician-assisted suicide in Alzheimer's disease, reviewing arguments for and against its legislation in a broad interdisciplinary context. The possibility of physician-assisted suicide in Alzheimer's disease leading to euthanasia in Alzheimer's disease is also considered. The author concludes that caution in moving toward physician-assisted suicide in Alzheimer's disease is necessary. However, where it is legalised, it may be difficult to justify precluding people with Alzheimer's disease from access. |
