AnnotationThe author, who looks after his mother who has dementia, describes his experiences as a caregiver in Poland, and the growth of local support organisations. The Polish Alzheimer's Association has plans for the creation of new self-help groups, and to involve influential people in its work to improve awareness of the disease. Various institutions have begun to organise courses for doctors, and the number of participants is growing.
