AnnotationThere is evidence to suggest that nurses under clinical supervision are more likely to treat those in their care with humanity, dignity and respect than those with no clinical supervision. Such supervision enables staff to reflect on their practice, feelings and clients with the help of a trained supervisor. The main barriers to its use in nursing homes are likely to be funding, identifying supervisors, and evaluation. Where introduced, it is likely that staff and residents will benefit.
