Annotation | This study focuses on personal control, social performance, and health status of 77 people aged over 55 in the mid-western United States, to examine differences between those running a home-based business, and those retired from work. No significant differences were found between the groups in terms of health or desire for self-control, though the business owners were found to desire more social contact than the others. In addition, those home-based business owners who desired high degrees of self-control found operation of a business from home to be highly satisfactory. |
