Annotation | This paper describes the health status of older people in Jamaica, drawing on the findings from the Health Consumer Survey 1981. Data on morbidity; patterns of illness; frequency of use of medical services; type of medical attention received; days of inactivity due to illness; employment; education; and household income are presented. The paper concludes that the health status of older people in Jamaica is consistent with that of older people in other transitional developing countries. |
