AnnotationThe research reported is part of the Groningen Longitudinal Ageing Study (GLAS). The authors use a theoretical model based on Lindenberg's social production-function theory to predict the conditions under which the well-being of older people will be affected. Their research asks: in which way do duration of bereavement and gender of respondent influence well-being, and to what extent can differences be attributed to differences in comfort, stimulation, affect, behavioural confirmation, and status? Differences in how time is spent are described and used as explanatory factors for differences in well-being.
