Annotation | The aims of this study were to ascertain: the occurrence of injuries in ballet dancers and the possible relationships between these and body mass index (BMI) and eating patterns; the menstrual history and fertility of female ballet dancers; and the overall structure of the dancing careers of retired ballet dancers. The study demonstrated a complex interplay of factors with the potential for interfering with dancers' health, although no serious health effects were identified in the sample studied. |
