| Annotation | Older people have the potential and appropriate experience for participation in voluntary work, and although they may want to remain active, they usually lack the information and impetus to turn this willingness into action. The papers at this European symposium looked at: how older people could be motivated to volunteer; recruitment and training; and organisation and co-ordination of voluntary work. It was not a question of whether there will be volunteers, but rather how older people can be convinced to make their knowledge and experience available. |
