Annotation | This article reviews three recent publications, which could provide social service department and social care agencies with a clearer direction as to how best to respond to carers' needs - both young and adult. The first two cover strategies for meeting carers' needs, and measuring outcomes for carers. The third, research from the Young Carers' Research Group, 'Young carers in Southwark: the hidden face of community care', demonstrates how social service departments fail to meet young carers' needs, because professionals have not identified them as being young carers. |
