AnnotationThis study - which comprises a literature review and a pilot study in the Falkirk and Stirling areas - supports some of the authors' concerns on the use of anti-psychotic drugs in management of challenging behaviours in people with dementia. The study also highlights the important and influential role of the nurse in reducing the need to use anti-psychotic drugs, and instead using alternative methods such as constructive activities and other behavioural techniques.
