Annotation | This briefing paper summarises the 1994 COMA (Committee on Medical Aspects of Food Policy) report, Nutritional aspects of cardiovascular disease. It makes recommendations on nutrient intake (including the role of salt, antioxidants, and various fats), food, physical activity, and prevention of obesity. It also recommends that as people get older, they should maintain moderate levels of physical activity, and increase fruit, vegetable and fish consumption. Those whose activity levels are low should do more exercise. |
