Annotation | Communication training was undertaken within a study, the main purpose of which was to determine the influence of light levels on rhythms and patterns of wandering behaviour in a nursing home sample of cognitively impaired people. The purpose of this training was to control variance in the social environment of an experimental lounge: it is hypothesised that a number of environmental influences may affect wandering. Heron six-category intervention analysis was used to interpret the existing social environment and inform ally (i.e. volunteer) training. This article outlines volunteer training methods and implementation issues, and evaluates training outcomes. |
