Annotation | This study of the care received by elderly people who have fractured a hip examines the process of care up to their discharge from hospital. It focuses on the working relationships between different professional groups; assessment and treatment; and the arrangements for rehabilitation and return to the community. The study was carried out at nine hospitals across the country, and case studies of aspects of their work are briefly outlined. The Royal College of Physicians' recommendations on managers' and clinicians' duties and obligations are listed. |
