Annotation	This report is on a project focusing mainly on volunteering with older people and adults with physical disabilities, and undertaken by the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI) with representatives of national voluntary organisations and the Association of Directors of Social Services. The project aimed to: examine the participation of volunteers; identify social service department (SSD) policies which enhance volunteers' participation; promote better understanding of arrangements between SSDs and volunteer providers; and analyse interaction in the field between organisations providing volunteers and the independent care sector.
