AnnotationThis book presents findings from recent policy oriented research undertaken by the European Union (EU) Observatory on Ageing of Older People, and the results from a specially commissioned Eurobarometer survey of public attitudes to ageing and older people conducted in twelve EU countries. The authors draw on information gathered by the Observatory and Eurobarometer to summarise the attitudes of the general public to older people and the most important policy issues confronting ageing societies: intergenerational relations and social integration; pensions and living standards; employment and older workers; the provision of health and social care; and the changing politics of old age.
