Annotation | This booklet introduces the new programme of reviews of performance of local social service authorities by the Audit Commission and the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI). It explains what joint reviews are, and summarises how they will be carried out. Joint reviews will provide an independent assessment for local people of how well they are served by their social services authority, and will also assist authorities in improving the overall quality of services in ways which will provide good value for money. |
