AnnotationThis article summarises a review of the literature, and reports the findings of eight focus groups in five US cities which ascertained older adults' concerns about lift and escalator safety and their preferences for receiving educational materials. Recommendations are made for the design and implementation of a safety education programme for older users of lifts and escalators.
