Annotation | This article describes the program, the aims of which are: conducting scientific research on religion's contribution to health and well-being in later life; acting as an information resource on how religion may influence the health of older adults and their use of health services; and the education of clergy, pastoral staff, and interested laypersons about how to identify and manage physical and mental disorders in older persons. The program is based within the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development, the oldest comprehensive programme on ageing in the US, at Duke University Medical Centre, Durham, North Carolina. |
