Annotation | The field of gerontology has slowly embraced the influence of ethnicity, race and culture on help-seeking and service utilisation patterns. Increased attention to these factors has highlighted the necessity for gerontological organisations to develop services that take into account an elder's cultural context. This article reports on a series of qualitative-based research activities involving a large-scale field study of Puerto Rican elders. This article also makes recommendations to help organisations to undertake assessments, programme evaluation, and other forms of service focused research. |
