Annotation | This article examines the scope of the problem of disruptive nursing hone residents who physically or verbally abuse staff and other residents. It attempts to assess and understand the causes of problem behaviour, and suggests possible action plans to provide activities that will prevent harm to staff or residents and result in an enhanced quality of life for the abusive resident. Various methods for avoiding and/or minimising staff burnout in stressful situations is also discussed. |
