Annotation | This article looks at patient discharges from St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, a district general hospital, in an area where there is a high prevalence of private nursing homes, to assess the number of patients being transferred to nursing homes. Time spent on rehabilitation in hospital may be adequate for an elderly person to return home with provision of services, which suggests that availability of nursing homes does not influence the number of patients transferred there from hospitals. |
