AnnotationThis book aims to develop and explain a multidisciplinary approach to working with older adults in areas relating to health, legal, financial, and social functioning. It examines: health and mental health issues; legal and financial dilemmas; ethical and spiritual issues; cultural competency and the impact of ethnicity; and the role of community practitioners. The Multidisciplinary Screening Instrument (MSI), which was developed to assess and screen older clients for appropriate referral and treatment by community practitioners, is presented and its usage is illustrated. The coordination of the referral and treatment plan is outlined, and implications for use of the MSI model in multidisciplinary community practice are discussed.
