The reinterpretation of finitude an introduction to three articles on the philosophy of aging | Author(s) | Jan Baars |
Journal title | Journal of Aging Studies, vol 11, no 4, Winter 1997 |
Pages | pp 259-261 |
Keywords | Ageing process ; Philosophy. |
Annotation | Although philosophy has been virtually silent about aspects of ageing and gerontology relevant to the discipline, ageing is not a new topic in philosophy: it only has to be reintroduced. This article is by way of introduction to three articles by Thomas Rentsch, Harry Kunneman, and Jan Baars. Although the three authors offer different perspectives on ageing, there is a common effort to reinterpret the fundamental experience of finitude - being towards death - in the light of ageing. |
