AnnotationIt is well known that elderly service users are unwilling to complain about their services, but the extent of their tolerance is very hard to measure. In the present case, the authors were able to sample users before and after large cuts in a district nursing service. Overall satisfaction scores did not alter. The authors go on to show how careful attention to the components of satisfaction can unravel some of the important details, which were hidden by a simple interpretation of their psychometric measures. They also recorded users' comments on the district nursing service. In their analysis they were able to highlight some user attitudes and perceptions in ways that further illustrate their qualitative data.
