AnnotationThis special issue examines several different types of relationships between women in later life. The first section covers long-term, more traditional types of relationships: mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, siblings, friends and partners. In the second section, the authors focus their attention on the supportive functions of older women's relationships, exploring the formal and informal relationships of various sub-groups: women with a formal religious affiliation, female farmers/farmworkers, care recipients, and women living in structured environments (i.e. Continuing Care Retirement Communities or CCRCs, and nursing homes).
