AnnotationMost of Scotland's 61,000 people with dementia are cared for at home. This manifesto calls on the main parties to support Alzheimer Scotland's priorities for action by a new government: specialist services; national standards for community care; the right to respite care; nursing care costs to be met by the NHS; improved financial support for carers; greater funding for research; legislation for management of welfare and finances of incapable adults; regulation for domiciliary care services; abolition of the distinction between residential and nursing homes; and dementia care training.
