AnnotationThis research draws on unpublished data from the General Household Survey (GHS) and the most recent official household projections to show trends in home ownership rates for sub-groups within the older population, and to project future levels and numbers of owners by age and household type. Use of GHS data (presented as statistical tables and bar charts) enables the study to look at the changing housing situation of particular cohorts - people born in a particular period - as they progress through the life cycle. This provides a better understanding of the circumstances which will affect home ownership over time, and provides more accurate forecasts of future trends for services such as Anchor Staying Put.
