Annotation | This paper describes institutional arrangements for long-term care (LTC) in the Netherlands, with an emphasis on nursing homes which have become the most important organisations for LTC for older people. The Dutch health care system is described, and the type of care, characteristics of patients, functioning of the LTC system (nursing homes) and outcomes are discussed. |
