Annotation | This report examines some key areas of likely concern to health policy makers in the next decade. Practical ways are suggested as to how to achieve better health for all. The impact of market reforms, managing change and developments in primary health care are examined. The extent to which there is a funding 'crisis' is assessed. Accountability is questioned: access to health services and fair dealing between providers and users should be a matter of right, not privilege. Alternative methods for generating funds and paying for long-term care are discussed, including a critical assessment of the Private Finance Initiative (PFI). This item is accompanied by an 8 page summary. |
