| Annotation | The value of day care, particularly in social settings, for older people with functional mental health needs, was accepted without question by all who participated in this study. Various options for service change and development are considered, the main ones being: improved social centre day care; a specialist day centre for older people with functional mental health needs; diversification of day care services; and home share. Whatever is chosen, equal access, appropriateness, flexibility, responsiveness, ease of access, availability of genuine choices, and better co-ordination between agencies should underpin that option. |
