Annotation | Although there is evidence of considerable progress over the past two decades in developing psychiatric services for older people with mental illnesses in London, there is considerable variation in provision. The authors put forward strategies which may increase the effectiveness of services, including: developing the role of 'trained carers'; expanding the use of care management; developing the use of multidisciplinary teams; and commissioning evaluative research which is evidence-based, not led by dogma. |
