Annotation | This paper focuses on the growing problem of family poverty in the UK, examining its causes and possible solutions. As well as the impact of demographic changes and global economic recession, a major cause of the growing disparity between rich and poor has been successive Conservative governments' ideologically-driven social policies. The author argues for an integrated approach to social policy based on commitment to fairness and social justice. |
