This volume presents demographic and epidemiological tables for 1990, by eight geographic regions based on criteria such as level of socio-economic development and epidemiological homogeneity used in that report: Established Market Economies; formerly socialist economies of Europe; India; China; other Asia and islands; Middle Eastern Crescent (which includes North Africa, the Middle East, Pakistan, and Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union), and sub-Saharan Africa.
