AnnotationThis volume aims to provide access to detailed estimates of incidence, prevalence, average age of onset, average duration and deaths in 1990 and projections for 2000 for various diseases and sequalae. These were prepared for Global Burden of Disease Study, which was developed for the World Bank's World development report 1993. The statistical tables presented are arranged by eight geographic regions: Established Market Economies; formerly socialist economies of Europe; India; China; other Asia and islands; Middle Eastern Crescent (which includes North Africa, the Middle East, Pakistan, and Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union), and sub-Saharan Africa.
