Annotation | London is shown to have greater needs for mental health services than the socially deprived areas of other cities. This report explores some of the reasons why this is so by examining policy and epidemiological evidence, and the current state of service provision - e.g. for older people, the homeless and ethnic minorities - and the degree to which service needs are met. Gaps in the service, the feasibility and desirability of change, and cost implications and other barriers to improving mental health services in the capital are discussed. |
