Annotation | This paper includes an analysis of audience attitudes and reaction to 'Skallagrigg', a television drama presented on BBC2 dealing with disability issues. Respondents generally agreed that television has an important role in educating and informing the audience about disabilities. Those with disabilities felt that disabled characters should appear in all types of programme, that issues surrounding disabilities should be more comprehensively addressed, and that those with disabilities should be directly involved in making television programmes. |
