Annotation | Summarises the part of this project, commissioned by the Department of Health (DoH), which used data from the 1991 Census to describe the extent and type of residential provision for people with learning disabilities in the UK. Census data is examined with respect to provision by: NHS; independent sector nursing homes; local authorities; and independent sector residential care homes. Information from the Census on residents' age, gender, ethnic identity, marital status and economic activity is also presented. |
