 — questionnaire survey of physicians

Journal titleBritish Medical Journal, vol 313, no 7055, 24 August 1996
Pagesp 466
KeywordsKidney diseases ; Referrals ; Doctors ; Attitudes to the old of general public ; Questionnaires ; Social surveys.
AnnotationAlthough there may be under-referral of elderly patients with renal failure to nephrologists, physicians as a whole were liberal in their stated referring or acceptance practice in this particular survey. Although the questionnaire measured only attitudes and not behaviour, the findings were consistent with a rising acceptance rate of elderly patients on to dialysis programmes.
