Annotation | Since the previous edition in 1986, there has been a considerable increase in scientific interest in bereavement. New themes covered in this edition include: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); the consequences of AIDS; the formulation of a theory of 'psychosocial transitions'; and the dangers of medicalizing normal life crises and treating grief as an illness. However, very little of the author's original account of bereavement and its consequences has had to be changed. |
