Annotation | Lifetime Homes standards - design criteria which ensure that homes are designed flexibly enough to meet the needs of most households with the minimum of adaptation - are increasingly being adopted in the building of new homes. The author, a chartered architect, examined the extent to which the same standards could be applied to existing homes as part of a refurbishment programme. A pilot study found that most residents welcomed the improvements. |
