AnnotationReports on a study which assessed the nature of incontinence among older people in residential and nursing home care, examined individual management techniques, and evaluated the strategies for continence care in the homes. Findings revealed a high prevalence of severe urinary incontinence and a lack of support received by the homes for the management of such residents, and it concludes that there is an urgent need for greater input from specialist continence services.
