AnnotationThe object of this review is to determine the extent to which the level at which National Insurance Fund stands from year to year may be expected in the longer term to bear a proper relation to demands in respect of benefit payments. It reports generally on the operation of the Social Security Acts 1975 to 1982. The report comprises: a summary of contributions and benefits; income and outgoings 1975/76 to 1979/80; the effect of the scheme of future increases in earnings and prices; estimated future numbers of contributors and pensioners; and longer term assumptions and estimates.
