Annotation | Care of the suddenly bereaved is acknowledged to be a core responsibility of accident and emergency (A&E) departments, but for a variety of reasons its importance may not always be reflected in the quality of care provided. This report presents findings from a study of bereavement care in A&E departments, in terms of cultural and religious issues, facilities, training, staff support, and audit. It recommends principles of good practice, and includes guidance notes on providing written information to relatives. (RH). |
