Annotation | Lifetime Homes are ordinary homes incorporating sixteen design standards that enhance their comfort, convenience, flexibility and adaptability. A number of planning authorities are now requiring homes to be built to these standards. This design guide, which includes over 50 architects' drawings, offers practical ideas and suggestions for incorporating Lifetime Homes standards into developers' schemes. It also looks at situations which cause most concern among developers, architects and builders, such as space constraints, client specification regarding internal layout, and narrow and wide frontages. There is also a section on modernising older properties to Lifetime Homes standards. |
