AnnotationThe Carnegie Inquiry into the Third Age was set up to consider issues affecting the life, work and livelihood of older people between the ages of 50 and 74. Nine separate areas were examined and the results published in separate reports: employment, income, learning, leisure, homes and travel, caring, volunteering, ageism and citizenship, and health. Data was gathered from existing literature and from large databases such as the Office for Population Censuses and Surveys (OPCS) General Household, Labour Force, Family Expenditure, Disability and Retirement Surveys. In addition to the nine subject reports, there is also a final report, and a report to mark the end of the second stage of the Inquiry. (AKM).
