AnnotationThis document builds on the Joint Advisory Group's `Standards for the registration of domiciliary care' (1992). It provides guidance on what would be considered to be provision of high quality domiciliary care services, identifying five areas of activity: the underpinning values for the provision of services; strategic planning (from the provider perspective); access to services; management of the provision of services; and provision of domiciliary care services. Information is provided on each of the five areas as follows: standard statement; criteria statement; evidence and examples; quality assurance; and annual review. The final part of the document considers the implications of the standards from the perspective of the local authority planning and purchasing function, including the production of the community care plan.(RH).
