Annotation | The evaluation of a prototype of a new chair, the Hi-Riser chair, equipped with an innovative mechanism for assisting the user to rise and sit, has proved beneficial to the manufacturer, and raised critical issues relating to applied industrial research. The authors use data from the research to illustrate key examples of these issues. Special emphasis is given to the involvement of the potential consumer in the evaluation process. (RH). |
